United Way of Southwest Louisiana partnered with Lasagna Love and Popeye's Foundation to present Lasagna-Fest. Local partners and volunteers prepared and distributed 8,400 meals of lasagna to families in Southwest Louisiana from January 8 to the 12th.
Lasagna Love is a nonprofit organization that began during the pandemic as a grassroots movement to address food insecurity. The organization delivers meals to families in need, spreading kindness and strengthening communities.
Through a Popeye's Food Love Grant, Lasagna Love partnered with United Way of Southwest Louisiana and many partners for five days to prepare pans of lasagna and deliver them to families in need.
CITGO Petroleum, Turner Industries, Westlake Corporation, PPG, GRACE, Abraham's Tent, Catholic Charities of SWLA, Second Harvest Food Bank, Calcasieu Council on Aging and many other United Way of Southwest Louisiana partners participated in the event.
