OUR HEALTH INITIATIVES

United Way of Southwest Louisiana has the ability to initiate projects independently in each of our four focus areas. These Initiatives address important community needs not already being met that we have identified as critical needs. They can be used to address emergency needs during times of natural disasters or critical community needs not being met.

Google Year In Search

Our work during the COVID-19 Pandemic gained the attention of Google. We were contacted for videography and data about our impact for use in their Year in Search for 2020. You can see our portion in the worldwide release below.

Dawn's Story

Dawn, a member of our community, was assaulted while on a date. She received life-changing counseling through a United Way of Southwest Louisiana-funded program that allowed her to build a positive path forward while healing from this tragic event.

Dawn recently gained the courage to join the United Way of Southwest Louisiana campaign and tell her story to the community. She has a message of hope and gratitude for people just like you who have made it possible for our work to continue for over 82 years.
